Epilogue

Dear Reader,
For the past 3 1/2 years, I have used this blog as a means of keeping those closest to us updated on the goings-on in our lives. I have posted updates, pictures, and videos chronicling our adventures. Ocassionaly, I have used my posts to delve into slightly deeper terrain--theological or otherwise. Overall, this blogging experience has been enjoyable and positive. However, upon my initiation into the world of Facebook this last August (reluctant though it may have been), I have reached the conclusion that it is superfluous and redundant for me to try to maintain both this blog and my Facebook presence. Both sites can be used to accomplish the goal of "staying connected" with friends and family, but Facebook allows this to be done more quickly and efficiently. I have, therefore, decided, as of 5:14 pm on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 to discontinue any activity on this blog. The blog will remain online as an archive, but no new entries will be added. Those wishing to see the latest pictures, videos, etc... should look me or my wife up on Facebook.

As a postscript, I have not decided to abandon the concept of blogging completely. On the contrary, I am going to attempt to become more of a true blogger. I will be starting a new blog soon that will be less about family updates and more about--well, I guess I haven't gotten that far yet. My goal is to include one new post per week. We'll see...Check back sometime to see this new blogging venture.

Anyway, it's been real...
And it's 5:14.

Giving In

Over the last several months, my blog entries have been sporadic at best. I still enjoy my blog, but haven't found the motivation to put much on here. (Although a new video will be coming forthwith.) Over the last several months, I have also watched my wife "check her Facebook" countless times. I have always resisted the idea of joining the Facebook Phenomenon for the simple reason that it was a Phenomenon--everyone was doing it, so why be like everyone? I had even teased her about her Facebook, stating confidently that I would never join the ranks. Well...not so much. After much trepidation, I have decided to join the revolution (albeit, somewhat reluctantly). As of 11 o'clock this morning, I created my very own Facebook account. My main reason for doing this is the fact that the website does offer a convenient arena for keeping in close (though often brief and trite) contact with friends and family. That is my main purpose, and that is what I will do. I do not intend on becoming a full-fledged (is it possible to be only half-fledged?) Facebooker! No games. No flair. No frivolity. Just keeping in touch. So, if you are reading this, and you are interested...look me up--send me a friend request! (Although I make no promises as to whether you will be accepted or not!)

All the while, the blog will press on...(most likely with the same amount of sporadicity as before!)

Good day!

If Only...

Danielle and I will be celebrating our 5th anniversary in a couple of weeks.  I have wanted to do something special for this milestone, but I wasn't exactly sure what--until I saw this video on the internet.  Now, all I have to do is come up with $10,000 for both of us to go...

The Birthday Boy

I can't believe I am typing this, but Eldan celebrated his 3rd birthday just a few weeks ago.  Unbelievable!  Seems like only yesterday that I was rushing out at 11 o'clock that night to get my wife (who hadn't eaten at all during 16 hours of labor) a double cheeseburger!  (The burger made her sick, by the way.)

Anyway, I am pleased to present the videographic record of the aforementioned birthday celebrations.  Enjoy...

PS - Be sure to listen for me getting all choked up when we give Eldan his present.  It is quite funny to hear!

What I Want

Do you know what I want?  I mean something I would really, really enjoy?  Something that would just brighten my day and put a spring in my step?  Something that really would be worth writing home about?

Well, I'll tell you.

A completely, truly, purely, absolutely, unarguably novel idea.

Turn on your TV, rent a movie, borrow a book from the library, or look at the shelves in your nearest Wal-Mart or shopping mall and you'll see why I say what I say...

Think about it.

(Now listen to me!  That last statement wasn't even novel.  It's the tagline for Hyundai commercials.  And so the drought of novelty continues...)
